Temple and it's contents was set alight at 8pm on Saturday 21st March.  It was lit by a number of people artist David Best had met during the course of the build, including: including Tony Doherty, Rossa O’Dochartaigh, Michelle McClaren, Paula Higgins and her son, Emma Diven, Bernie Mclaughlin and Kevin Strathern.  

Up to 15,000 people watched as the wooden structure burst into flame and cheered as the spire collapsed twenty minutes later:
